Natalie Portman pulls out of Wuthering Heights
May 12th, 2008 - 5:34 pm ICT by adminWashington, May 12 (ANI): Natalie Portman has walked out of new film Wuthering Heights.
Portman had been set to play the role of Cathy Earnshaw in the big screen adaptation of Emily Bronte’s classic 1847 novel, but the shooting schedule clashed with her as-yet unannounced project.
John Maybury is directing Wuthering Heights, which is still set to start shooting in the fall.
The film, penned by Olivia Hetreed, is being produced by U.K.-based Ecosse Films.
Executives at Ecosse are pondering other choices for the role of Cathy.
Hanway Films is handling international sales.
Menawhile, Portman is also planning to make her directorial debut with an adaptation of Israeli writer Amos Ozs memoir A Tale of Love and Darkness in the near future. (ANI)
