October 19, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Hollywood actress Natalie Portman was left extremely embarrassed at the recently held Environmental Media Awards after a video clip showing her singing and dancing was shown to an auditorium filled with people. The actress tried to laugh her way out, but little could anyone present ignore the 11- year-old kid in the video clip. Natalie Portman, in the video clip  was seen singing on the topic of the usefulness of recycling! The Environmental Media Awards event was held in Burbank in California over the weekend.

Natalie Portman was invited to the awards ceremony to present the EMA Corporate Responsibility Award to Jeff Skoll, the man behind movies like “The Cove” and other environmental movies such as “The Crazies”. Both movies stress on the importance of recycling in today’s world. Reports suggest that as soon as Natalie Portman went up on the stage to make the presentation, the organizers started playing the video clip showing the actress singing her heart out when she was all of 11 years of age. Apart from Natalie Portman, Hollywood actress Jane Fonda was also present at the Environmental Media Awards to felicitate Ted Turner for his contribution towards the banning of female genital mutilation through work by his foundation.

The awards ceremony also awarded television dramas like “30 Rock” and “Bones” for their contribution towards promoting themes related to conservation of energy. The HBO series “Gasland” was rewarded for its vivid presentation of the oil drilling process in the United States. James Cameron’s “Avatar” also managed to bag the award for the best movie.
