Nari Hira to make adult content movies only for DVD release Head honcho of Magna Films a division of Magna Publications, Nari Hira has plans to make adult content movies only for a DVD release. It can be recalled that Nari Hira was the pioneer of video films way back in the mid-80s. His first big screen production Bhram starring Dino Morea, Sheetal Menon and Milind Soman had released few months back.

Hira revealing his adult’s only film plans states, “We are planning to make video films on DVD which will be far bolder and provocative. We will have equipment in London and send people to New York Academy to train them. We plan to have fresh subjects and rework on few of our old films.”

Hira has now launched three films in a row. The first titled Apartment is an edge on the seat kind of thriller starring Neetu Chandra, Tanushree Dutta and Anupam Kher in the lead and is being directed by Jagmohan Mundhra. His second one titled Accident On Hill Road is being directed by Mahesh Nair and stars Celina Jaitley and Rohit Roy in the lead. Accident incidentally is based on a true story. His third film is the sequel to his cult classic Shingora and is titled Shingora - The Aftermath. While the first film has gone on floors, the shooting of Accident will begin from April 5 onwards and details of the third film are being worked upon.

Shingora can be best remembered for Persis Khambatta’s daring role. The film also starred Marc Zuber, Ardhendu Bose, Aditya Pancholi, Anju Mahendru and Neeta Puri. The film was directed by Anil Tejani.

Hira is now looking for a heroine who could be able to take Persis Khambatta’s role forward. But he is tight lipped about the female lead and the young actor who is going to play the part of Aditya Pancholi. “I have spoken to a few A league actress but nothing has been signed on the dotted line” reveals Nari Hira. “The actress has to be in her early 30’s and late 20’s. It was the story of a Man hater who is very carefree in life and makes love both to the father and to son. It was a cult film and a very bold role. The sequel will show whether the woman will marry the son. Will he be strong enough to live with her past?

When asked why he had not approached director Anil Tejani to direct the sequel, Nari Hira reveals “I am touch with him but he has retired and settled in Goa since he has heart problems.”

Meanwhile popular TV star Ronit Roy has been signed for one of the male leads and the films is being directed by Jagmohan Mundhra. “I am meeting a few Australian financiers next week. They will be working on the package deal of all three films. We are also planning to start marketing English films in India.” Nari Hira adds before signing off. -Sampurn Media
