The 40 year old British model left onlookers rather shocked with shooting in New York recently when she inadvertently revealed a bald patch. The state of Naomi Campbell’s hair had become a hot subject of speculation for quite some time now after the supermodel was seen sporting a new hairstyle frequently which fueled rumors that something must be seriously wrong under those alleged wigs. However, the worst nightmare of all Naomi Campbell fans ultimately came true when a gush of wind caught her off-guard and showed her bald patch.

The British model was busy in a fashion shoot for Dennis Basso in New York when the pictures were taken which revealed her receding hairline. Since the photos of Naomi Campbell has come to the limelight, speculations are ripe regarding what resulted in such a severe hair loss for the supermodel. Hair experts have stated that wearing tight hair extensions for years now finally seems to have taken a toll on the natural hair of Naomi Campbell while ‘traction alopecia’ is said to be the condition from which the 40 year old model is said to be suffering.

It has further been highlighted by experts that if the condition is caught in the early stages then chances of re-growth of hair is quite high but prolonged traction often leads to permanent loss of hair. Other celebrities who are known to have encountered the same problems due to the excessive use of hair extensions include Britney Spears, Victoria Beckham, Paris Hilton, among others.
