Los Angeles, Feb 15 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Sir Paul McCartney and wife Nancy Shevell were among the host of celebrities who paid tribute to Whitney Houston at the hotel where she was found dead. The pair laid flowers at the makeshift memorial located just outside of the hotel on Tuesday.

Houston was found dead in her hotel room. Reports suggest that she drowned in the bathtub apparently after overdosing on prescription drugs. The official cause of death is not expected until after some weeks because investigators have requested for toxicology studies. It is expected to be ready after six weeks.

When McCartney and Shevell arrived at the memorial outside the hotel, the former Beatles star blew some kisses and spoke on the flowers before leaving them on the floor. Several other celebrities have paid tribute to the late 48-year-old singer whose life was both inspirational and tragic in equal measure.

A private memorial has been scheduled for the weekend although former husband Bobby Brown has reportedly been banned from the event. The body of Houston was flown to her hometown in Newark on Monday. Several options have been left open as regards to how the funeral will be held.
