‘Nana Patekar not getting Rs.90 mn’(Snippets)May 29th, 2008 - 9:39 am ICT by admin
Mumbai, May 29 (IANS) Leave alone being paid Rs.90 million, veteran actor Nana Patekar has not been even approached by Shree Ashtavinayak CineVision Ltd for a year, says a spokesperson of the company. “We haven’t even approached Nana Patekar for more than a year. We still don’t have an appropriate script which suits his image and there is absolutely no truth to stories saying we have given him Rs.90 million for a film,” said a spokesperson from the production house.
A Mumbai-based tabloid reported last week that Nana, who was supposedly doing a film for them, was first offered Rs.30 million for the said film.
Later, when he was approached for a change in dates due to Sanjay Dutt, he demanded double the amount. When there was another change in dates, Nana further increased his price to Rs.90 million.
The tabloid also quoted a source from the production house as saying it “had no option but to accept Nana’s condition”.
Ajay Devgan to play hat-trick this year
After his directorial debut “U, Me Aur Hum”, actor-director Ajay Devgan is set to produce three films under his banner. He will also direct one of them.
While Ajay would be directing one film, he has zeroed in on Rohit Shetty of “Sunday” and “Golmaal” fame to direct the second film for him.
The third film, however, is still being scripted.
Ajay, who is currently on the judging panel of Zee TV’s reality show “Rock N Roll Family” along with his wife Kajol and mother-in-law Tanuja, will also be active on the acting front.
He has Shetty’s “Golmaal Returns”, Kumar Mangat’s “Toonpur Ka Superhero”, Prakash Jha’s “Rajniti” and Vipul Shah’s “London Dreams”.
Rahman’s tryst with T-Series continues
After releasing maestro A.R. Rahman’s melodies for Aamir Khan’s “Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na”, music company T-Series is trying to ride high on the singer-composer’s success. The company has already acquired the music rights of his next film “Yuvraaj”.
The Salman Khan starrer, which is being produced and directed by Subhash Ghai, is stated for a Diwali release. With the film’s music, T-Series is attempting to bring Rahman’s work to his fans yet again.
Popular actors like Anil Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, Zayed Khan and Boman Irani form the rest of the cast of “Yuvraaj”.
