Musician John Walker dies

London, May 9 (THAINDIAN NEWS) John Walker has died at the age of 67. The personal assistant of the singer confirmed the death of Walker on Sunday. The report says Walker died of liver cancer on Saturday.

Walker is famous for the formation of the band Walker Brothers. The band was based in the United Kingdom. The Walker Brothers came out with several hit songs including “The Sun Ain’t Gonna Shine Anymore.”

His long stay in the United Kingdom made Walker and the Walker Brothers popular in the country. He continued to have regular performances in the country with his most recent performance taking place in March. He never spent his entire time in Britain though. In the 1980s, Walker came back in the United States and released some albums and had some performances.

The rep of Walker, Polly Klemmer, told reporters that the singer died at his home in Los Angeles. Klemmer said Walker only stopped performing at advanced stage of his illness.

Walker Brothers became part of the rise of rock and roll bands in the United Kingdom. The band was placed in the league of the Beatles and The Rolling Stone bands. The period was called the “Golden Age of rock ‘n’ roll.”

The report did not indicate the funeral details.
