Yogi– Reveling tunes
Banner: Team Work Productions
Production: Ameer
Direction: Subramaniam Siva
Star-casts: Ameer, Madhumitha, Nirmala Periasamy, Snegan and others.
Music: Yuvan Shankar Raja
Both filmmaker Ameer and music director Yuvan Shankar Raja have rendered great movies in the past. It’s been more illustrious with “Mounam Pesiyadhe’, “Ram’ and “Paruthiveeran’. Now, they’re back in business with “Yogi’ that marks the entry of director Ameer as an actor. Subramaniam Siva, who shot to fame with a commercial entertainer “Thiru Thirudi’, has directed the film.
The songs of “Yogi’ do exceed your expectations with attention-grabbing musical score of various genres.
Yogi Yogi Thaan
Singer: Blaze, Neha Bhasin
The album starts-off with a racy number with peppy beats and later goes overpoweringly stunning with Blaze’s vocals. Yuvan Shankar Raja has added some interesting fill-ins and sound engineering lends and extraordinary flavor to the song.
Yaarodu Yaaro
Singer: Yuvan Shankar Raja, Ustad Sultan Khan
Our kind advice to Yuvan Shankar Raja! Please don’t ever imitate A. R. Rahman’s vocal style, as it sounds odd when crooned in such manner. Right from a long time back, the young musician has been trying to render his vocals in a peculiar style. Of course, this song isn’t an exception, as he renders it on same factors. But, ace Ustad Sultan Khan overshadows Yuvan’s diminishing act with his colossal voice. Nonetheless, Yuvan does a brilliant orchestration over instruments and sound mixing.
Yogi Theme in Saarangi
Singer: Ustad Sultan Khan
Much alike the previous song, Yuvan Shankar has delivered the tunes on “Saarangi’. Again, you’ve Ustad Sultan Khan crooning with extraordinary intonation. The instrumentation of strings has been splendidly executed.
Seermevum Koovathiley
Singer: Ameer, Naveen, Sneghan and Jijuba
Indeed, this is the most interesting pick of the album. The highlight of this song is about Ameer and lyricist Snegan crooning besides Naveen and Jijuba. Yuvan Shankar Raja has recreated the magic of the rural song in “Paruthiveeran’. Dinesh has excellently choreographed the song and for sure, Ameer is sure to win audience applause on this one!
Yogi Theme Music (Instruments)
This is purely Yuvan’s touch of stunning score. It has more stringed instruments and flute part has been played well. The beats on percussions are mild and finely embellish the song.
Finally, Yuvan Shankar has delivered one more chartbuster. For sure, the songs would top-the-charts much prior to film’s release.
Rating: 3.5/5
