Murdoch attacked in British parliament
July 19th, 2011 - 11:15 pm ICT by IANSLondon, July 19 (IANS/RIA Novosti) An unidentified man tried to attack News Corporation chief Rupert Murdoch during a parliamentary committee hearing Tuesday on the phone hacking scandal.
A Twitter posting said a protester threw a “foam pie” at the 80-year-old businessman. His wife Wendy Deng, who was sitting behind him during the hearing, is reported to have “landed a right hook” on the attacker.
The BBC said it was a “plate of shaving foam.”
The hearing was suspended and it was not clear when it would resume.
