London, May 4 (ANI): The mummified remains of actress/pin-up model Yvette Vickers was found in her rundown Beverly Hills home, and the state of her body indicates that she may have lain there for a year.

The badly decomposed body of Vickers, 82, was discovered by a neighbour, who noticed that letters stuck in the actress’ mailbox were yellowing around the edges, and that cobwebs had gathered in the doorway.

Vickers, who was once a Playboy centrefold, had played the femme fatale in ‘Attack Of The 50 Foot Woman’, and ‘Attack Of The Giant Leeches’.

Her neighbour, Susan Savage, had to push her way through a mountain of uncollected fan mail and boxes to find the body. A small heater was still been running next to it, and at least one window was broken at the home.

“She kept to herself, had friends and seemed like a very independent spirit,” the Daily Mail quoted Savage as telling the Los Angeles Times.

“To the end she still got cards and letter from all over the world requesting photos and still wanting to be her friend.

“We’ve all been crying about this. Nobody should be left alone like that,” she said.

The official cause of death is being investigated by the Los Angeles county coroner’s office, but police are not treating the death as suspicious. (ANI)
