MTV’S Comedy Awards To Air On April 10

Jan 11, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Come April 10 when fans of MTV’s comic stuff will get to see the first ever Comedy Awards on the entertainment channel. It is high time that all you MTV fans who just cannot seem to get enough of the comic and raunchy stuff that the channel is known to be famous for, gear yourselves up for the big event that will air almost two months later from now. The Comedy Awards, however, will be filmed almost two weeks ago on March 26 before the television broadcast.
The Comedy Awards will be held jointly by Viacom’s MTV Networks and Comedy Central who announced the news of the forthcoming awards ceremony on Monday. The motive behind the Comedy Awards is to honor the year’s best comic stuff ranging from comedy films, television series to digital content. Awards will not only be given to the best actors, writers and directors from the comic arena for the year but will also include achievement honorary awards which will be given out to legendary figures who have left their mark in the comic genre. The Comedy Awards will be held at Hammerstein Ballroom, New York City and will comprise of eminent personalities in the panel of the board of directors. The nominations for the awards will be selected by them which will include Whoopi Goldberg, Billy Crystal, Will Ferrell, Seth MacFarlane, Adam McKay and Ray Romano, among others
The winners will be decided by a selected group that will consist of 500 to 1000 people. The group members will include directors, producers, comedy writers, performers. However, some of the awards will also be left for the public opinion whom audience will vote through MTV’s official site.
