MTV Video Music Awards nominees list out

New York, July 21 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Katy Perry leads the list of nominees in the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards. The nomination list was released Wednesday by MTV. This year’s list is led by female performers. Katie received nine nominations in this year’s list with the video of her songs “Firework” and “E.T.”

Adele follows second on the chart of singers with the most nominations with seven nominations. The singer’s video of the song “Rolling in the Deep” propelled her to the feat. Lady Gaga who was the star during last year’s version of the awards tied up with Nicki Minaj and Beyonce with three nominations each.

Kanye West led the pack of male artists who received nominations for the awards. The singer received 7 nominations for his works on the tracks “Rolling in the Deep” and “Power.”

Katie’s nomination included “Video of the Year” and “Best Female Video” nominations for her song “Firework.” Her collaboration with West, “E.T.,” was also recognized and nominated for the “Best Special Effects.” West is competing for the “Best Special Effects” with the song “Power.”

West’s nomination include the “Best Male Video” for the video of the song “All of The Lights.”

Sunday the 28th of August is the date for the airing of the MTV Video Music Awards.
