keithNov 6, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Liberal talk show host Keith Olbermann was suspended by MSNBC after it came to light that the television presenter had made campaign contributions to three Democratic candidates in the recently-held mid-term elections. It has been reported that the talk show host was suspended indefinitely from his job as he was found guilty of violating the NBC news policy due to his action of making the donations to the three Democrats last month.

While announcing the decision of suspending Keith Olbermann, MSNBC’s chief executive Phil Griffin stated that he came to know about the political contributions made by the popular talk show host on Thursday night and keeping in mind the news policy and standards of NBC, he had to take the decision of suspending him for an indefinite period without pay. Keith Olbermann had admitted earlier on that he was involved in making campaign contributions to two Arizona representatives Raul Grijalva and Gabrielle Giffords as well as Kentucky Senate candidate Jack Conway ahead of the mid-term elections that were held on Tuesday. The decision to indefinitely suspend the much-acclaimed talk show presenter was taken as NBC prohibits its employees donating or working on political campaigns until and unless, the news division president makes an exception. However, this was not the case with Keith Olbermann and the network officials got to know about the campaign contributions after they were already made.

In the meanwhile, following his suspension, Keith Olbermann has not been available for any comments in this regard. “Countdown With Keith Olbermann” is the top-rated show on MSNBC and the suspension of its host as of now leaves the program with an uncertain future.
