September 22, 2010 (Sampurn Wire) : As we enter into the second decade of Twenty first century the browser war is getting more intense. Previously the market was ruled by the Internet Explorer on the PC platform and Safari on the Macs but now it’s a different story altogether. Nowadays Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Opera are fighting it out to oust Internet Explorer from its throne.

Recently Firefox updated all its driver versions to fix the stability problems they have been facing for quite some time now. The new Firefox version 3.6.10 and version 3.5.13 are more stable than the previous versions. The developers claim that they have patched as many 15 vulnerabilities for the users of three platforms. Right now Mozilla Firefox is a favorite browser for users of all the three platforms viz. Windows, Mac, Linux.

Recently the Mozilla Firefox Ver. 4 Beta was launched; the version 4 is going to have hardware acceleration on it. Hardware acceleration is a new frontier in webpage rendering and all the major browsers are preparing themselves for the new battle to commence. With hardware acceleration, browsers can provide better web surfing experience without putting too much pressure on the processor.

Firefox 4 has gone through a major overhaul after the recent patching and now it is more secure and offers better protection to the users. Let us see if Firefox can win over more users from Google Chrome and Internet Explorer.
