New Delhi, Sep 17 (IANS) Science fiction movie “The X Files: I Want To Believe”, based on a popular TV series, is all set to hit the Indian theatres Sep 26. Director Chris Carter claims that the film will “scare the pants off of everyone in the audience”. “The film encompasses all the best things people loved about the show. It’s scary, creepy, and has a good mystery. Simply put, we want to scare the pants off of everyone in the audience,” Carter said in a press release.
“I think the best part of ‘The X-Files’ was that it could make you afraid of anything. They didn’t tell typical horror stories or adhere to popular genre conventions. And this movie is in that tradition of showing things that you would not see in most scary movies,” he added.
David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson, who played main leads in the TV series “The X Files”, team up once again for the film to play ace detectives Fox Mulder and Dana Scully.
Unlike the first film “The X-Files”, the plot doesn’t focus on the series’ ongoing episodes on mythology.
“Even if you are not an avid fan of the series and don’t understand the mythology, you can still come to it and get the movie completely,” said Duchovny.
Produced by Fox Studios, the movie was shot in Vancouver and Pemberton in British Columbia, Canada.
