Director Ashutosh Gowariker is again back to periodic films with his latest venture Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey, which is based on the Chittagong Uprising of 1930. The story of the film is based on Manini Chatterjee’s book ‘Do And Die’.
Abhishek Bachchan and Deepika Padukone have a completely different look as the lead characters of the movie. For Deepika, it is a challenging role as audience has always seen her in glamorous roles and in this movie she turns a total ‘desi girl’ with her sari clad look. Sikander Kher will be back to big screen after a long gap with the hope of improving his acting career.
The promos of the movie promises to offer one of the biggest films of the year. A real life incident is the base of the movie. In 1930, when the country was being ruled by British, a village called Chittagong in West Bengal was suddenly awaken by a revolution by a school teacher called Suyra Sen. This revolution wakes not only the people of Chittagong but the entire nation.
Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey tells the real story of 64 forgotten heroes of Chittagong, who made five well calculated simultaneous attacks on the British in a single night of April 18. This group of 64 included five bold revolutionaries, 56 innocent yet fearless young boys and two determined young women.
The whole country will be reminded of those heroes once again through this period film.
So wait till tomorrow to catch a show of the movie or watch this space for more!
