Morrissey ends UK tour after fan throws drink
November 9th, 2009 - 6:12 pm ICT by ANILondon, Nov 9 (ANI): Brit singer Steven Patrick Morrissey is said to have finished his UK tour on a bad note when he refused to complete a show in Liverpool following a fan dumping drink on him.
Morrissey, 50, who last month had been forced to pull out of two shows after he collapsed during a performance in Swindon, was supposed to play at London’s Royal Albert Hall, reports the Daily Star.
But when he took to the stage in Liverpool on November 7, he fell victim to the antics of an over-zealous fan, who threw a drink at him during his second song.
The rocker was kneeling down and shaking hands with audience members at the front of the stage when a large plastic beaker of beer struck him on the head.
After standing up and wiping his face, Morrissey muttered “Goodbye” into his mic and walked offstage, followed by his band.
After 15 minutes, the booing and jeering crowd at the city’s Echo Arena was told by an aide that the singer would not be returning to finish the show. (ANI)
