Morley Safer interviewed the legendary Vogue editor Anna Wintour
May 31st, 2010 - 7:34 pm ICT by Aishwarya BhattLos Angeles, May 31 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Morley Safer had interviewed the legendary Vogue editor Anna Wintour on ‘60 Minutes’ a year back. And recently the episode was telecast again on TV. And since then there has been a buzz on the Internet about her, all over again. It is no surprise that the mere sight of Anna Wintour evokes shock, surprise and even fear. Because she has been the editor of Vogue for over 2 decades now.
Anna Wintour was the inspiration behind the book and the movie ‘The Devil Wears Prada’. She is also sometimes known as “Darth Vader in a frock!” Apart from turning Vogue into a fashion lover’s bible, she is also a divorcee and a mother to two children.
Morley Safer asked her whether she is driven by what she does. To this the 60 years old Anna replied that, “Well, I am very driven by what I do. I am certainly very competitive. What else? Am I needy? I’m probably very needy, yes. I’m, a bitch…. Well, I hope I’m not. I try not to be. But I like people who represent the best of what they do and if that turns you into a perfectionist than maybe I am.” She also added that Vogue is kind of a ‘glamorous girlfriend’ to all the women who love fashion.
