London, April 23 (ANI): Hollywood actor Morgan Freeman is heading a campaign in the United States to raise awareness about hurricanes.

The 72-year-old veteran is the co-founder and spokesperson for The Great Hurricane Blowout.

The organization aims to encourage American and Caribbean natives to gear up for the hurricane season, which traditionally falls between June and November.

The ‘Shawshank Redemption’ actor is encouraging people to take tips from the new Ready, Set, PLAN!T appeal which tells how to survive hurricanes in the best manner, reports The Daily Express.

“Hurricanes have the power to destroy, but we have the power to prepare. The Great Hurricane Blowout will provide your family with the tools to be ready in the face of an emergency,” Freeman said. (ANI)
