Morgan Freeman car crash lawsuit settled
November 6th, 2009 - 3:25 pm ICT by ANILondon, Nov 6 (ANI): Actor Morgan Freeman has reached an out-of-court settlement relating to a car accident last year, which seriously injured him and a passenger.
Demaris Meyer had filed a lawsuit in US District Court in February insisting Freeman was negligent when the car ran off the side of a rural highway near his Mississippi Delta home last summer.
The 1997 Nissan Maxima belonged to Meyer, but Freeman was driving when the car flipped several times and landed upright, reports the Daily Express.
However, details of the settlement were not disclosed in court records.
Freeman’s lawyer, Jack Hayes Jr, would not discuss the terms of the deal, but said: “We’re all glad it’s over with.” (ANI)
