Morgan Freeman And Wife Finalize Their Divorce In Mississippi

Morgan Freeman September 20, 2010 (Pen Men at Work): Morgan Freeman, the actor and his wife managed to finalize their divorce in Mississippi on September 15 when the judge of Tallahatchie County entered the decree. The attorney for Freeman, Wright told Associated Press that everyone was glad that the tidings were over at last. He also shared the news that the divorce had been finalized without a trial with the terms being sealed.

Freeman and Myrna Colley-Lee had been separated from each other since 2008. The divorce came under seal only in July this year. The couple had been married for a long 26 years. Wright also revealed that Freeman has a ranch near Charleston while Myrna Colley-Lee is a film costume designer apart from being a theater person. Both of them stay in the Tallahatchie County of Northern Mississippi.

Kay Farese Turner, the representative of Myrna said that both the parties were pleased with the final terms and had been relieved when it came to an end. Turner further added that Colley-Lee had taken the decision to remain in the region because she is actively engaged in the local schools as well as with various art forms in the area. Her decision was also taken on account of her friends, most of whom stay in the area, concluded Turner.

Freeman, now 73, is an Academy Award winner which he won for his 2004 performance in ‘Million Dollar Baby’. He has also been lauded for his acting talent in ‘Bruce Almighty’, ‘The Shawshank Redemption’, ‘Driving Miss Daisy’ and the ‘The Dark Knight’.

The couple got married in1984 and has no children together. Freeman, however, has two sons from his past relationships as well as a son and an adopted daughter from his first marriage to Jeanette Bradshaw.
