Mo’Nique’s brother confesses that he sexually abused her

Chicago, Apr 20 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Mo’Nique’s brother opened up on the ‘Oprah Winfrey show’ and publicly apologized for sexually abusing the actress when she was 7 years old, and he was a teenager. Gerald Imes confessed on the show that he molested the Oscar winning actress for around 2 years.
He seemed sorry about his deed and profusely apologized to the actress, because he had betrayed her trust. “I abused and betrayed the trust of another sibling, my sister, my blood sister.” He then proceeded to apologize to her and said that, “I’m sorry, Mo’Nique. I’m sorry.” He also said that he decided to appear on the show, as he wanted to reunite his family. He also confessed that he was also molested as a kid, and also started using drugs and alcohol when he was just 11 years old.
He had a lot of hope for the future, that somewhere down the line, they could reunite and be together as brother and sister again. “Hopefully somewhere, somehow as siblings we can come back together as brother and sister,” he said.
Prior to Gerald Imes candid admission on Oprah’s show, Mo’Nique had herself talked about how she was molested by her brother when she was a child.
