Oct. 28 (THAINDIAN NEWS) R n B singer Monica is back in the limelight. She came on television on October 27, with a show she has both produced and starred in. The show is called “Monica: Still Standing”. It takes an intimate peek inside her life and traces the tough road she had had to travel to reach where she has. According to Monica, it is a documentary that records her struggle as she tries to maintain a balance between her work and family with two kids and her fiance. At the same time, the show also traces the difficulties she had had to face in her journey to the top.

“Monica: Still Standing”, that airs on BET, shows her dealing valiantly with the various problems she had had to encounter in her life. It chronicles her problems regarding health and other personal difficulties. In the premiere, she said that launching the show was a very brave step. She admits that initially the prospect of keeping the very personal aspects of her life out there for everybody to view was very daunting. However, later on she felt that doing this has helped her immensely as a mother and a woman.

The Grammy winning singer described the show as a model for today’s youth. According to her, there are many youngsters today who would like to be in her position and the show would be as enlightening for them as it was for her. Monica says that she had no qualms, after the initial stage, about opening her life to national television. She feels that there is no harm in it, as in the show there is no script and everybody will be what they actually are.
