Monica Belluci’s French home burgled
May 27th, 2009 - 12:06 am ICT by IANSLondon, May 26 (IANS) Italian actress Moncia Belluci’s apartment in Paris got burgled while she was sashaying the red carpet at the closing ceremony of the 62nd Cannes Film Festival.
Dailymail.co.uk reports that the thieves got away with more than 80,000 pounds in cash with other things like jewellery, computer and video equipment worth at least double that amount.
The burglars also stole Bellucci’s passport, which she needed this week to travel to Hollywood.
“It was clearly a meticulously planned burglary,” said one of the officers investigating the theft in Boulevard de Menilmontant, in the French capital’s 20th arrondissement.
“They (the thieves) entered the fourth floor apartment via a balcony, smashing a window in the process. Then they pretty much cleared the flat out of anything which was valuable and could be removed easily,” the officer added.
Belluci was in Cannes promoting Marina de Van’s “Don’t Turn Around”, in which she stars alongside former James Bond girl Sophie Marceau.
