August 14th, 2010 - 7:00 pm ICT by Sampurn WireAugust 14, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): This year Mollywood is going low profile for the Onam festival. Earlier, director Vinayan’s low budget movie Yakshiyum Njanum was announced to be launched during the festival. Now, two other low key movies have lined up for this festival release. The other two movies are Rajiv Anchal directed Pattinte Palazhi and Aatmakatha by Sreenivasan.
National award winning actress Meera Jasmine is returning to Malayalam films after sometime with the movie Pattinte Palazhi. It is a musical with total nine songs scored by Malayalam composer Suresh Manimala. Apart from Meera, the movie stars Revathy, Manoj K. Jayan, Nedumudi Venu, and Jagathy in important roles. Renowned playback singers like Chitra, Hariharan, Vijay Yesudas, and Ustad Faiyas Khan have sung in this film. The director Rajiv Anchal has directed many award winning films like the Malayalam movie Guru, which was Indian official entry for Oscar in 1997.
The second movie Aatmakatha deals with a blind couple and their positive attitude towards life. It is a very pleasant story, which is directed by a former associate of director Blessy called Premlal. The lead role of the blind pair is played by actor Sreenivasan and actress Sharbani Mukherjee. The supporting cast of the movie includes Sreelatha, Jagathy, and Kochu Preman. Malayalam music director Alphons Joseph has composed music for the film.
