Mohit all set to record his first Bengali Song
August 24th, 2010 - 9:00 pm ICT by Sampurn WireAugust 24, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Bengali listeners are always open to fresh voices, Mohit Chauhan recorded his very first Bengali song in Sujit Mondal’s untitled film. On Saturday, Suri recorded a foot-tapping number with Jeet Ganguli just two days before the song is going to be filmed in Switzerland.
When asked about his debut in the Bengali playback scene, Mohit informed that he has done Bengali jingles before but this was his first full-fledged Bengali song. Since Suri is well acquainted with the language he did not face any difficulty while singing. Suri finds Bengali very sweet to his ears and has perfected the Bengali pronunciation to render the song.
Jeet and Mohit go a long way back, when Mohit was the lead singer of Silk Route. Jeet ran into Mohit and offered him the song and Suri agreed right away. The lyrics of this groovy number have been penned by Prosenjit and the words go like “Mon hariye beghore”. The entire team worked heard on perfecting the pronunciation and the recording went without hiccups.
Sujit thinks Mohit’s song will be a huge hit among Bengali listeners. Sujit further added that this song will revolutionize the Bengali playback scenario. Sujit is sure that Dev (the protagonist of the movie) will love the song when he gets to hear it in Switzerland.
