Michael Jackson Washington, August 5 (ANI): Michael Jackson’s father Joe has said that he will keep his distance from his grandchildren.

He filed a declaration with courts in Los Angeles saying that he won’t be involved in raising the children.

It comes after experts feared that his wife Katherine would lose the custody of the kids due to his alleged violent record in bringing up his own children, including the pop legend.

“I have had a close family relationship with these grandchildren since their birth. I do visit the family residence from time to time and will continue to do so, however I will not be involved in raising the children,” Contactmusic quoted him as saying in the statement obtained by TMZ.com.

He adds: “I understand that all decision-making authority regarding the children will rest with Katherine Jackson.

He signs off by praising his wife’s parenting skills: “Katherine Jackson is a wonderful caretaker and guardian, and has done an excellent job raising our children and other grandchildren.”

Meanwhile, Katherine has been nominated as the permanent guardian of the kids- Prince Michael, Paris and Blanket. (ANI)
