MJ’s estate slams sale of commemorative belts

London, May 28 (ANI): The latest Michael Jackson legal controversy is over the sale of commemorative belts, allegedly sanctioned by the singer’s parents Joe and Katherine.
Howard Weitzman, a lawyer representing the late singer’s estate, has slammed the sale of the belts, which have allegedly been produced without the permission of the trustees.
The belts feature signatures from the late star’s three young children and Michael’s parents.
TMZ.com has obtained a picture, which appears to show the pair signing one of the items.
One of the belts is to be put under the hammer at an auction for a reported 3,333 pounds, while 7,000 other unsigned belts are also set for sale online.
But Weitzman is adamant the belts have not been authorised and claims trustees oppose the sale of any merchandise, which allegedly features the signature of Jackson’s children.
“The Trustees of the Estate of Michael Jackson did not authorise the making or the sale of the Michael Jackson Tribute Belts. We would never condone the use of Michael’s children’s signatures to promote the sale of merchandise,” the Daily Express quoted him as telling TMZ.com. (ANI)
