London, July 15 (ANI): Officials investigating Michael Jackson’s death have sought information from the maker of the powerful anaesthetic propofol as part of their probe.
A spokesman for Teva Pharmaceuticals said the Drug Enforcement Administration had contacted the company about a specific batch of the drug.
Teva willingly recalled two batches of propofol after officials discovered bacterial contamination in some samples led up to 40 patients in Florida, Arizona and Missouri to suffer fevers and chills, reports The Telegraph.
Denise Bradley, a spokesman for the company, said the DEA quizzed about a different batch of the drug than what the company recalled.
Investigators found dozens of bottles, boxes and bags of pills while searching the property in LA where Jackson died.
Among other drugs, the highly dangerous surgical anaesthetic propofol, the generic version of Diprivan, which is legally available only to hospital patients and is administered via intravenous injection, was also seized. (ANI)
