MJ was ‘crazy’ about Bubbles the Ape

Michael Jackson London, Sept 20 (ANI): Michael Jackson’s biographer has revealed how the relationship between the King of Pop went ‘bananas’ over Bubbles-the monkey.

“You actually felt Bubbles was a kid in a monkey suit,” Mirror quoted Jackson’s biographer as saying.

“He craved love and affection. And he found it with Bubbles. Two lives - man and ape - became entangled,” he said.

An evolutionary psychologist and ape expert Carole Jahme said, “You get a damn good hug from a chimp. That is perhaps the kind of strength of hug he’d have liked from his father.”

Jackson’s one-time friend who himself wrote a biography about Jackson, said that MJ had stopped trusting people. Jackson was so close to the monkey that he, as the “documentary” explained, implored doctors to operate on Bubbles’ vocal chords so that he could talk.

Often, it seemed, Jackson used Bubbles to generate press coverage for himself.

But ultimately Jackson abandoned him.

Bubbles is 26 now, and lives in “a retirement community for ex-showbusiness apes”. (ANI)
