Washington, August 8 (ANI): A lethal amount of powerful anaesthetic Propofol was found inside late King of Pop Michael Jackson’s body after his death, according to leaked autopsy results.
Michael died after suffering a cardiac arrest at his home in Los Angeles on June 25.
Although the results of the autopsy conducted to determine the cause of his death have yet to be officially released, several news reports have suggested that the ‘Thriller’ hitmaker died after taking a dangerously high dose of the surgical painkiller.
A news report published by TMZ.com says that the toxicology results confirm the rumours, and reveal Michael also had traces of anxiety drug Xanax, generically known as alprazolam, in his blood.
However, what attracted the authorities the most was the presence of Propofol in the singer’s system.
“(Propofol is) front and centre in terms of why (Jackson) died,” Contactmusic quoted a law enforcement source as having told the website.
Officers from the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), who are probing Michael’s death, have confirmed that they are considering a charge of manslaughter against the singer’s personal physician Dr. Conrad Murray.
The medic is believed to be responsible for supplying Jackson with prescription drugs. (ANI)
