Michael Jackson Washington, November 2 (ANI): The massive opening haul of Michael Jackson’s film ‘This Is It’ has led movie bosses to extend its two-week run.

The movie charting the last days of Jackson saw worldwide grossed a massive 101 million dollars in just five days.

Sony, which shelled out 60 million dollars for the rights to distribute the film, announced it is extending the film’s run by three weeks in the U.S.

The studio’s head of distribution, Rory Bruer, said the decision to extend will be made on a territory-by-territory basis.

“He’s (Jackson is) just loved everywhere on the planet. It doesn’t matter if it’s Asia, Africa, Australia, Europe, South America. Every continent in the world loved him and his music,” Contactmusic quoted Bruer as saying.

The documentary features behind the scenes footage of the King of Pop as he rehearsed for his sold-out comeback concerts in London before his sudden death on June 25.

The two-hour movie, which is being hyped as the last-ever performance by the star, was rolled out for 18 simultaneous premieres in five continents. (ANI)
