Missing gems added to Anna Nicole Smith’s financial woes

Anna Nicole Smith Washington, Jan 28 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Anna Nicole Smith was in a huge financial mess, and had even filed for bankruptcy in 1996. And she was unaware of the cause of her financial woes. The assets that she proclaimed in her bankruptcy case included a Russian lynx coat appraised at $US43, 343 ($A48, 224) and a necklace with a 500-carat sapphire, but also six potbellied pigs and a $US12, 000 ($A13, 351) doll collection. Also there was a safe deposit box in a New York Bank that had around $1 million in jewelry coupled with her perfume and a calendar too. She also reported that some of her jewelry was missing, in which there were a lot of gems and even diamonds.

She had unpaid taxes and even some utility bills, like a gas bill for $265.63 Anna filed for bankruptcy when her billionaire husband J. Howard Marshall died in 1995. After his death, there was a huge court battle over his assets that are surprisingly continued even after Anna Nicole Smith’s death. It may be recalled that Anna Smith died in February 2007, of an accidental overdoes of medication. She was found dead in a Florida hotel.

‘She could barely walk, her speech was slurred, she had to lay down in a darkened room as the light bothered her and she could not remember what she said from one moment to the next,’ the examiner said, prior to her death.
