Johannesburg, Dec 12 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The prestigious beauty contest Miss World 2009 is in progress now, and it is being held in Johannesburg, South Africa. It features 112 beautiful contestants from around the globe. This contest was started 25 years ago. And it is the brainchild of Julia Morley. A charity foundation is also involved with this beauty pageant, as the theme of the beauty pageant is ‘Beauty With A Purpose’. And the foundation has raised over $400 million dollars since its inception.

However due to the heavy traffic, the Miss World website http://www.missworld.com/ has crashed and is not opening up at all.

Here is a list of the Miss World 2009 T.V. Schedule in all the major countries:

In the United States, the Miss World 2009 Live tv show will air on the cable channel E!, on Saturday, December 12. The show will begin at 10 a.m. EST/9 a.m. CST. The live broadcast will last two hours.
Mexico will be able to watch the live television show at 9 a.m., on channel Televisa.
London residents will be able to view the pageant at 3 p.m., on The Travel Channel.
In France, Miss World 2009 tv schedule is also set for 3 p.m., on the Premiere channel.
The pageant starts and airs at 5 p.m., in South Africa. It will be shown on the SABC channel.
Russia’s broadcast will begin at 6 p.m., on the CTC channel.
India will be able to tune in at 8:30 p.m., on ZEE TV.
Miss World 2009 will air at 11 p.m. Saturday night, in the Philippines.
South Korea and Japan may watch the pageant at midnight.
Australia will be airing the Miss World 2009 Live show at 2 a.m., on Sunday.
