Sanya, Oct 31, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Miss United States Of America Alexandria Mills turned out to be winner of the 60th annual Miss world beauty pageant which was held on Saturday night in Chinese city of Sanya. Looking nothing short of gorgeous, the 18-year-old beauty queen was crowned the Miss World 2010 during last night’s event which turned out to be a grand success. In order to win the much-coveted beauty pageant, Alexandria Mills had to beat around 114 contestants from across the world who are participated in the event.

The 18-year-old contestant who was look ravishing in an ivory white gown, could not hold back her emotions when she was announced to be the winner of this year’s Miss World pageant. Her large number of supporters who had gathered at the venue cheered boisterously when Miss USA Alexandria Mills was declared as the winner and was later crowned by 2009 Miss World Kaiane Aldorino. Apart from Miss USA who went home with the much-coveted title, Miss Botswana Emma Wareus was announced as the first runner-up while Miss Venezuela Adriana Vasini bagged the third position. The fact that Alexandria Mills was crowned as Miss World came as a surprise to many as the American teen was supposedly not considered to be one of the front-runners to win the beauty pageant.

Meanwhile, Alexandria Mills’ biography on the official online portal of Miss World claims that the 18-year-old has already graduated from high school and aims to become a teacher sometime in the near future. The teen is a native of Kentucky and was fondly called KFC” for Kentucky Fried Chicken by her fellow contestants which was quite ironical as she is a vegetarian.
