Miss India Ekta Chowdhary utterly disappointed her long list of fans back home, who eagerly waited with bated breath to catch their favorite contestant reach the finals of the highly coveted Miss Universe 2009 beauty pageant. But alas, the hopes of the millions of Indians back home were dashed as Ekta failed to make it to the top 15 of the highly prestigious contest, thus marking the end of her much hyped journey.

Although Ekta crashed out of the contest even before making it to the top 15 list, her moth Rita Chowdhary seemed to be quite delighted and proud for her daughter’s performance in the Miss Universe 2009. According to the sources, the proud mother of Ekta, Rita Chowdhary reportedly said that this year more and more of “blondes” were preferred in the Miss Universe 2009 contest and her daughter not being one of them, lost out by not getting placed in the final 15 list of contestants.

Rita Chowdhary reportedly told her daughter to be prepared for any sort of result and not be disappointed of any negative outcomes. She said, “Maybe Ekta was not destined to win the crown. God has planned something else for her.”

According to the sources, Ekta had put in a lot of effort so that she ensures herself a place among the top 15 finalists. But the twist of fate can never be ignored as Ekta was not selected among the final 15 list of contestants. Nevertheless, this year the competition was tough enough and Ekta did a great job in the contest. Ekta looked seemingly stunning in the swimming suit round.
