Mirren, Brand re-team for ‘Arthur’ remake
April 24th, 2010 - 1:40 am ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )London, April 24 (IANS) Dame Helen Mirren is re-teaming with British funnyman Russell Brand for the upcoming remake of 1981 hit comedy “Arthur”.
The veteran actress, who has filmed an upcoming adaptation of Shakespeare’s “The Tempest” with Brand, will take on the role of Hobson, a valet who gives advice to the beloved boozy socialite, reports EmpireOnline.com.
Sir John Gielgud won a Best Supporting Actor Oscar for his portrayal of Hobson in the original.
Meryl Streep was tipped as the front runner after producers announced plans to cast a female actress in the role.
