California, Feb 16 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Country singer Miranda Lambert has objected to the decision of the Grammy organizers to have Chris Brown perform at the event. Her difficulty stems from the fact that Brown assaulted then girlfriend Rihanna just before the 2009 Grammys.

Lambert tweeted her comments on Monday when she decided to watch the playback of the Grammys. Lambert’s first tweet was, “Just got to watch some of the Grammy’s. Love how much country music was represented. Makes me proud!”

Her tone and mood however changed shortly afterwards and she tweeted again. This time, the comment was directed at the organizers and the fact that Chris Brown was allowed to perform at the event.

She wrote that, “How dang long did they give Nicki Minaj to do whatever that was? Strange. And Chris Brown twice? I don’t get it. He beat on a girl …” Just seconds later, Lambert added another tweet saying that, “Not cool that we act like that didn’t happen. He needs to listen to Gunpowder and lead and be put back in his place. Not at the Grammys.”

Chris Brown and Rihanna both performed at the Grammys last Sunday. This was the first time that the pair has performed on the same stage – although separately – since the infamous assault case.

Brown has insisted in the past that he has been punished for the incident and should therefore be left to die.
