Minissha Lamba held at airport with undeclared jewellery
May 19th, 2011 - 12:25 am ICT by IANSMumbai, May 18 (IANS) Bollywood actress Minissha Lamba was detained by customs authorities at the Mumbai international airport Wednesday for carrying undeclared jewellery worth Rs.50 lakh, official sources said.
“Minissha Lamba has been detained at the international airport since more than two hours for carrying some objectionable items,” her spokesperson said at 9 p.m., without revealing what the items were.
“I just know that Minissha has been held up at the international airport. I have not been able to speak to her and hence I cannot tell you the reason why she is detained there,” she said.
Lamba, 26, was intercepted by the customs officers while she was crossing the green channel at the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport.
She was reportedly returning after attending the Cannes Films Festival.
Customs sources said that she was carrying jewellery worth over Rs.50 lakh that was undeclared.
