May 25 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Country singer Mindy McCready was rushed to the Cape Coral Hospital in Florida earlier today in what was being called an overdose by her mother. According to a release from her publicist, however, “The diagnosis has not yet been confirmed.” Lee County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a 911 call for an emergency overdose at Mindy’s mother’s residence in Fort Myers, but their spokeswoman could not give out any details about the call or subsequent hospitalization.

Mindy,who took an overdose in 2005 that almost killed her,has battled her addictions in public for the past few years, and was a participant in the reality show, Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew”. She currently in a custody battle with her mother to regain custody of her 4 year old son, and had to undergo drug and alcohol evaluations, along with psychological exams which were released last week, in an effort to assess whether she is fit to regain custody of son, Zander. She passed all of the test “with flying colors.”

Mindy, who is staying in the house with her mom at this time, has a rep who stated that Mindy had a bad reaction to pain killers which had been given to her for a broken toe, and her mother simply “overreacted”. The rep said that Mindy had taken 4 Darvocets, and when she complained to her mom about how she felt, Terri-the mom-over reacted by calling 911. There is no word from the hospital nor Sheriff’s Department to confirm or deny either version of the story.
