Miley Cyrus wins the Global Action Youth Leadership award

The 18-year-old who is also making strong strides as an actress received the Global Action Youth Leadership Award during the Global Action Awards Gala on Friday. According to the organization, the award was in recognition of Cyrus’s work with the organization Blessings in a Backpack.
Cyrus also has her own organization that is called “Get Ur Good On”. The organization wants to promote the good in the youth and create awareness to the destructions associated with waywardness.
She became the first recipient of the award when she was given the award by Hilary Duff.
After receiving the award, Cyrus told the gathering that, “I gotta tell you, I never thought I would get an award from Hilary Duff. This is like a dream come true for me, she inspired me. And now I’m here being able to inspire other kids. I’m very lucky and this is why I created Get Your Good On with Youth Service America.”
This is the first year of the awards and it was held in Beverly Hills. The awards are meant to honor success stories of ordinary people.
