London, October 31 (ANI): A 53-year-old man has been ordered to keep distance from Miley Cyrus and her family.
Mark McLeod of Appling, Georgia, pleaded guilty to resisting police outside the set of the Walt Disney Pictures movie The Last Song featuring the 16-year-old actress.
McLeod, who told cops he was engaged to marry the star, also pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct though a third charge of attempted stalking was dropped.
Cops revealed the unemployed assistant plumber twice landed at Tybee Island, in search for Cyrus as the she shot for the film.
A State Court judge sentenced McLeod to two years probation and ordered him to undergo a mental health evaluation
“I guess he’s just like an avid fan and obviously there’s some delusion going on, but that’s not against the law,” the Daily Express quoted McLeod’s lawyer, James Byrne, as saying.
“The evidence didn’t show that he ever had any intention of harming (Cyrus) or her family,” he added. (ANI)
