Recent reports released on Jackson’s death, reveal that his Dr. Arnold Klein wrote 27 prescriptions; controversially ’self-prescribed’, (from March 26th 2006 until May 2009) them for hydrocodone (Vicodin), modafinil (Provigil), diazepam (Valium) and intravenous injections midazolam (Versed) which were not supposed to be safe drugs. As per as California law “No person shall prescribe, administer, or furnish a controlled substance for himself.”
A search warrant affidavit which was released on Monday issuing details of Jackson’s death.
The singer had got addicted to propofol which he jokingly called “milk” and had asked his doctor for a strong dose of anesthetic prior to his death as he could get no sleep. Anticipating the addiction, Dr. Conrad Murray had postponed giving him a dose of propofol for 6 hours alternating it with a mixed dose of Valium, Lorazepam and Midazolam administered 5 times in a span of 6 hours, hoping that it would induce sleep.
When the combination failed to achieve the purpose Jackson insisted on propofol not aware that the consequences could be fatal. Murray finally injected it along with a cocktail of other drugs, and that was what proved lethal for Jackson. Autopsy results indicated that a high dose of propofol was the definite cause of the death.
The question is if Murray knew that Jackson’s system was showing an unhealthy inclination for propofol how then did he still inject him with it?
Midazolam was given at 3 am.It was again given at 7:30 am just before the last injection propofol after which Murray found Jackson not breathing anymore at 10:52 am. Murray tried to revive Jackson by administering CPR, and urgently delivers some flumazenil(Anexate), but it fails to improve the singer’s situation.
