clipboard0118 New York City, Mar 22 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The US First Lady Michelle Obama made her debut on the show ‘The Simpsons’. Her voice on the show was provided by actress Angela Bassett. In the show, she made her grand entry at the Springfield Elementary, to the surprise to Nelson Muntz and Groundkeeper Willie. She goes to the school to give a pep talk to Lisa, who has been ostracized by her peers, as she is a good student and a high achiever. She speaks to the students about the advantages of having a good education, and how the students ought to be nice to Lisa, as she is an achiever in academics.

In the show Lisa and Nelson Muntz praise her for being so elegant and charming. To their statement, she replies that, “Before I was who I am today, I was a nerd.” She wanted to speak further on the topic, and in turn give some lessons to the students on the merits of being elegant and being well groomed, but she is cut off by Springfield’s ‘Joe Biden’.

The US First Lady joins the ranks of other celebrities like former US president Bill Clinton, musicians Chris Martin and Sir Paul McCartney, who have also appeared on the popular show, since it’s inception in 1989.
