Dec 10, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Michael Voltaggio was crowned the winner of the sixth season of the popular American reality show ‘Top Chef‘ in an episode that was aired on Wednesday. In order to win the much coveted title, Michael Voltaggio had to beat his brother Bryan Voltaggio, who was also one of the finalist in the show. Apart from the Voltaggio brothers, the other contestant to reach the finale was chef Kevin Gillespie, who was considered to be the fan favorite. However, it was Michael Voltaggio who ultimately stole the show and managed to serve a splendid four course meal, which was highly appreciated by the judges.

At the same time, winning the coveted title, allowed Michael Voltaggio to take home $225,000 in cash and merchandise and would allow his work to be featured in the Food & Wine magazine. Apart from these, the winner would also be provided with a number of other opportunities to showcase his talent. Meanwhile, with all three contestant performing immensely well, it became extremely difficult for the viewers to predict who would be declared as the ultimate winner.

Apparently, Micheal Voltaggio’s victory came as a surprise to many people, as the viewers were expecting Atlanta chef Kevin Gillespie [with his years of experience] to emerge as the winner. However, the Atlanta chef had a tough time during the final challenge due to which his food did not match with his usual standards and failed to impress the judges.

Micheal Voltaggio who was considered to the ‘bad boy’ of the season learned his culinary skills from the ‘The Greenbrier Hotel Culinary Apprenticeship Program’.
