Michael ‘The Situation’ Sorrentino sues Abercrombie & Fitch

New York, Nov 16 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Michael The Situation Sorrentino sued Abercrombie & Fitch for trademark violations. The Jersey Shore star is claiming that the retailer is using bogus advertizing tactics to use phrases that is connected to him to make money without his consent. The phrase and the words in question are “The Fitchuation” and “GTL…You Know The Deal.”

A&F and The Situation have been engaged in a row for some time now. The shop announced in the summer that they plan to give The Situation money of he will just stay away from wearing their outfit. The feud got to the fever pitch when The Situation filed the suit on Tuesday.

The suit was filed through the managers of The Situation, MPS Entertainment. The court papers which were filed at a court in Florida claim among other things that, “Starting in August 2011, Defendant (the company) embarked on a grand, worldwide advertising campaign using Sorrentino’s name, image and likeness to create brand awareness for its products by falsely claiming that Defendant had offered money to Sorrentino if he would stop wearing Defendant’s goods.”

The suit further alleges that A&F did not make any official contact with The Situation or his representatives on the offer that they mentioned in the media. The complainants are demanding that the court should order the company to pay about $4 million in damages because they have profited from using the image of the Jersey Shore star.
