California, Aug 5 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The rented house in which the King of Pop had been living for months and eventually spent his final moments has been put up on the market for a price of $28.9 million (£19.3 million).
The property was let out to Michael Jackson for a couple of months before his death on 25 June 2009. After his death the singer’s friend and fashion guru Christian Audigier decided to buy the mansion and establish it as the official headquarters of his Ed Hardy clothing line.
After the singer’s premature death, Audigier had been thinking about turning the home into a museum and make it available to the public in honor of the dead music superstar. But his plans were thwarted when the local council refused to give him the go ahead and had to change his mind as a result.
It was available for rent for the sum of $300,000 per month, but had to be put up for sale as a result of lack of offers to rent the property.
The building, which is located at Holmby Hills, California had been previously offered up for sale two years ago at $38 million but failed to attract a buyer. It consists of seven bedrooms with 13 toilets and a huge garage suitable for 7 cars.
