Michael Jackson’s Museum Gets The Nod

michael-jackson-concert-2June 7, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The mayor of Gary and members of the Jackson Family Foundation got together for a meeting about the establishment of a Jackson Family Museum and A Micheal Jackson Performing Arts Theater.

Joe Jackson who was present in the meeting said that by being involved he is continuing his father’s legacy. He also said that the establishment of the institution was something his family and Micheal Jackson always wanted and he is glad he is getting the opportunity.

Mayor Rudy Clay is hopeful that the pop legend continues to have a tremendous fan following and there are a number of organizations that are dedicated to the fans who want to contribute to the cause of his legacy.

The mayor said that he is expecting 7,50,000 visitors annually and that this will be a great boost to the tourism industry of the are. There are also thousands of jobs that will be created through the museum.

The Jackson Family Museum and Hotel and the Michael Jackson Performing Arts and Cultural Center and Theaters will built from the money gathered with the help of donations by the fans and well-wishers of the family.

The estimated cost of the project has been determined at $300 million and the place is expected to earn $100 to $150 million annually, according to the mayor. Lonnie Bunch who is responsible for gathering the memorabilia for the museum has recently displayed the iconic Michael Jackson hat.

The wide-brimmed hat was the pop star’s signature accessory during the shows. Lonnie Bunch is traveling all over the world to collect items that are related to Michael Jackson.

The mayor Rudy Clay noted that the pop icon’s childhood home has received millions of visitors since his death and it is this sentiment that can be captured through the museum.
