eoCalifornia, Feb 23, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Heather Hust Rivera, the executive at Disney, has reported that the musical by Michael Jackson, “Captain EO,” would be returning to Disneyland for a repeat screening. She has also reported that the film will be running in the theaters in Disneyland for an indefinite period of time. The film, which runs for about 17 minutes, will be shown in the Tomorrowland theater in Disneyland. The film will be shown on a 70mm print, and would also have the added quality of an enhanced sound system.

On the downside, however, Heather Hust Rivera has commented that the audience would not be treated to the special effects that used to be the high points in the original presentation of the film. In the original presentation, the film featured the use of smoke and laser lights. “Captain EO,” starring Michael Jackson, would be screened as a replacement of the Disney classic “Honey I Shrunk The Kids,’ that used to run in the Tomorrowland theater in Disneyland. This is not the first time that “Captain EO” is playing in Tomorrowland, however. It had been played in the theater back in 1997.

“Captain EO” is going to be screened in Tomorrowland starting from Feb 23, 2010. The new 70mm print is going to provide a better picture quality, and the better sound system has been brought about by the fact that the theater has gone through some “acoustic enhancements.” In “Captain EO,” Michael Jackson plays the title role, along with Anjelica Huston, who assumes the role of the Witch Queen. Directed by Francis Ford Coppola, the background score was created by James Horner, and the film went on to become one of the greatest Disney hits of all time.
