simpsonsThe untimely death of Michael Jackson has indeed affected the world and specially the entertainment world. All are arranging special tributes to the star in their own intimate ways and the latest in the lineage is the re-telecast of the Simpson episode that came in FOX channel on Sunday night at 8 p.m. where Michael Jackson had lead his voice.

The Simpsons is a hugely popular American animated television sitcom and it was once said that one’s stardom is not complete without his or her’s appearance in a Simpson episode. The legendary pop star’s involvement in Simpson episode came in September 1991 when he laid his voice as guest on the third season premiere of the Simpsons called “Stark Raving Dad.” In this episode one of the character Homer when sent to a mental institution meets with Leon Kompowski who is bald and has been in the institution for the disorder-that is, he thinks he is Michael Jackson. The pop star had actually dubbed for this character.

But at that time there were some issues regarding the syndication rights. There was a contractual conflict between the show’s creators and Jackson at the time of the first airing which abstained the former from featuring Michael Jackson’s involvement in the show and the name of the voice lead was shown as “John Jay Smith”.

The star himself was a huge fan of this animated series and has worked with it later too like the pop rap number “Do the Batman” which MJ co-wrote for the for the album “The Simpsons Sing The Blues” that was aired on FOX. As part of the tribute, the Simpson creator’s have already aired the hit number.
